Allina Health | Aetna Announces New Medicare Choice for Minnesotans

Plans are designed to take care of the whole member, with benefits that go beyond Original Medicare

(MINNEAPOLIS) Allina Health and Aetna Insurance Company (Allina Health | Aetna) – a healthcare company focused on improving quality and affordability – has announced that its new Medicare plans are ready to take 2019 enrollment beginning October 15. By combining Allina Health and Aetna’s strengths, including a shared passion for whole-person care, the plans provide a comprehensive range of medical, dental and holistic benefits.

Through a unique partnership between two industry leaders, the new company offers four preferred provider organization (PPO) Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans, with premiums as low as $0. All plans include prescription drug coverage as well as dental, eye-wear and hearing aid allowances, a monthly over-the-counter (OTC) allowance, and SilverSneakers® fitness benefits at no additional cost to you.

“We are pleased to offer a range of products to meet members’ health needs and budget,” said Britta Orr, Medicare general manager. “We’re making it as convenient as possible to access the services members need including health, prescription drugs, fitness, dental, and vision, through one plan. Additionally, with the new Allina Health | Aetna Medicare plans, members will have access to a range of hospitals and doctors, including those in Allina Health’s high-quality care network.”

Allina Health | Aetna’s plans also offer unique benefits to help members improve their well-being. This includes Medicare Part B covered chiropractic visits for subluxation of the spine as well as non-Medicare covered acupuncture and routine chiropractic visits up to 12 times per year each, along with access to the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing. Members can also earn gift cards for completing healthy activities. For those who travel south, the Health Away from HomeSM program offers customized care plans and allows them to receive planned or routine care at in-network rates in select states.

Highlights of the prescription drug benefits include two plans with a $0 prescription drug deductible, a network of pharmacies offering preferred pricing and coverage for certain drugs in the Part D coverage gap.

The Allina Health | Aetna Medicare Advantage plans will serve individuals in Anoka, Brown, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Isanti, Hennepin, Nicollet, Ramsey, Scott, Washington, and Wright counties. For more information, please visit www.allinahealthaetnamedicare.com.
